There have been a couple of posts and comments by our friends that have made my mom think a lot about my brother at the bridge, Zachary. She hasn't done a proper bio for him yet - she said she just hasn't had the emotional energy to do it yet. But she said I could go ahead and tell you all a little bit about him and how he relates to our friends.
Firstly, this post from the sweet
Pikku Punapippuri reminded her of Zak's unique bathroom habits. He perched on the litter box when he went to do his business - all 4 feets perched safely out of the litter. He also liked to do his business in the human toilet (#1 only, no poo). The first time he did this, he nearly gave my mom a heart attack. She was in college, so he had to have still been a tiny fella. She was in her apartment, all alone except for the 2 boy cats. All of a sudden, she could hear someone using the toilet. Oh my goodness - someone had broken in to her apartment to use her bathroom and then murder her!! She quietly snuck to the bathroom and caught Zak in his dismount. There were still bubbles in the water, so she knew what he had done! He continued to do this until the last year or so of his life, when he was so frail that he ended up falling in the toilet one morning and had trouble getting out. Thankfully Mom was there to help him right away.
The
Katnip Lounge kats also reminded my mom of another of Zachary's regular behaviors. He used to sit on the edge of the tub every time she took a bath, and he would drink the water! He had her trained pretty good - no soap or anything else went into the water until he had his fill. Except Mom. Without her enormous body in the tub, the water wouldn't be up high enough for him to reach! After he was done, he would just sit there until she finished her bath. He was rarely far from her at any time.
Oh, and about the chili. My mom didn't feed it to me. She is lazy, and when she was full last night, she put her bowl on the floor instead of getting up and taking it to the kitchen right away. She knew Zoe was upstairs killing mousies, so she didn't worry about anycat eating the chili. I don't like people foods, really, and I hardly ever eat anything except for my kibble, Fancy Feast, and sometimes Temptations, though I don't always eat those either. So she was shocked when she looked down and saw me with my face planted in her bowl. After the shock wore off, she took it away from me. After that, I chased Zoe up and down the stairs, killed a mousie or two, and went to bed. Chili makes me feisty!
