Ticked Tabby Thursday

These were supposed to be Wordless Wednesday photos.  But they're not being posted until Thursday afternoon.  Lame, Mom, really lame.

Anyway, you can see in these photos that we're sharing our Secret Paws presents real good.  Happy next to the last day of 2010!

Thoughts on Tuesday

I've been thinking about what a great week it was.  Our mom was home, we got toys and treats, and it was Christmas!  Our mom also started a new project that is super great!  The project is "Fatten up the Fuzz".  She doesn't like Fuzzy being all bony and stuff, so she decided to see just how much Fancy Feast she would eat.  You see, Fuzzy never lets anyone see her eating crunchies, so it's hard to tell just how many crunchies she eats.  But she'll let you watch her eat Fancy Feast!  So, our mom would give us some Fancy Feast anytime Fuzzy would head towards her bowl.  Of course, it's not polite to give some to Fuzzy and not me, so I got lots of it too!  Fuzzy sure did eat a ton of Fancy Feast!  And she played lots, and she *gasp* sat in my mom's lap - like 5 times!  In 15 years, Fuzzy has never been a lap cat.  My mom had hopes that once the boys were no longer around to torment her that she would sit in her lap, but it actually took over a year of the black bully being gone before Fuzzy decided to try a lap.  I guess she likes it!

We've been sharing our Secret Paws gifts real good - we'll post some pictures up for Wordless Wednesday to show you!

I forgot to tell you another fun part.  Fancy Feast makes me allows me to leave really stinky litter box bombs!!  I drop them off then run for the hills!!  My mom makes little gagging noises, and it's so much fun!!

It's Christmas!

Merry Christmas, friends!  And not a day too soon, I say.  It is HARD to be good for so long, worrying about what Sandy Claws might see you do.  And I tell ya, if he was watching last night, he's going to be very disappointed in me.  But I just couldn't help it.

I slept a long time in the crows nest of my tower - I thought the best I could do would be to sleep so I wouldn't be tempted to be bad.  But then, I just couldn't sleep any longer.  I jumped up on the coffee table and accidentally knocked over my mom's water glass.  She gets real sore when I do that.  (mom note - she sticks her big floofy paws in it and tips it over - there is NOTHING accidental about that!) Then I decided to play a game where I push everything from the coffee table to the floor.  In trouble again!  Sheesh.  So I went into my new cube and let out the most pathetic mew - even Fuzzy got out of bed to come check on me.  I was just saying how sorry I was!  My mom and Fuzzy can be serious drama queens.
So, kitties, if you're looking for me today, I'll be in my cubes.  It's pretty much the only place where I won't get into any trouble.  Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas Eve and Secret Paws

Merry Christmas Eve, friends!  We did a post a couple of days ago on the Secret Paws blog, showing all of the fantastic things The Island Cats sent us!  We don't want to duplicate that post, but we wanted to put up some pictures here, so we'd have reminders of this fabulous time on our own blog.  So, without many words, here are some photos of us enjoying our very first Secret Paws!

A whole bag of mousies!  Woohoo!!  I'm sharing with Fuzzy - I promise!

More TOYS!

CUBES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this blankie - it's very soft, and my mom put it on my favorite downstairs sleeping spot. :)  And my mom got a great CB mug!
All of that playing wears a girl out.  Thank you Ernie, Wally, and Zoe, for our most excellent presents!  I'm going to sleep now and wait for Sandy Claws to get here!  Merry Christmas Eve, friends!

Wordy Wednesday

We're finally getting caught back up!  And we were horrified to see we missed something very important.  Back on the 12th, the Lounge Kats gave us our very first award!  It's the "One Lovely Blog Award", and we are so honored that this great group of kitties chose to pass this award on to us!
We'd like to pass it on to three blogs that are pretty new to us, and maybe our friends haven't met them either!
  •  Chester and Mickey - These cats are from Oklahoma, too!  And they have a sister named Sooner who we feel doesn't get enough blog time!  ;)
  • Tucker Tells All - Tucker is a very nice dog who lives in a blended family - dogs and cats living in harmony!
  • Mom and Me, Kassey - Kassey is a gorgeous senior cat living in Alabama with her mom.  We love senior cats!
Now, we'll show you a few photos from my mom's little trip.  As we've said, her mom lives in a teeny tiny town in west Texas - west of Lubbock, very near the New Mexico border.

My mom saw snow!
Haha, we're just joshin'.  That's cotton!  The cotton is pulled off of its stalk and smashed into these things called modules (or that's what her mom calls them, so if that's not right, blame her!)

The modules are taken to the cotton gin to be, umm, ginned.

The gin is a hopping place!  Lots of cotton is left on the stalks and along the road and everywhere.  My mom thinks that they should make prisoners come along and pick all of the remaining cotton, but no one else seems to think that's a brilliant idea.  Sorry, Mom.
The cotton makes her all sneezy and sniffly.  But she's glad for the stuffed up nose, because then she can't smell these guys.

(If she was a better photographer, you'd be able to tell that these are cows.)

Now we take you to sights from I-40 between Amarillo, Texas and Oklahoma City.  This is a big cross.  We don't know why it's here, but it is.
This rest stop is just a few miles after you enter Oklahoma.  It probably wouldn't be this nice, but it's so close to Texas that they probably tried harder.  My mom said it's way cleaner and nicer than any restrooms she's been in along this route.  So, skip the Love's and go to the rest stop!

It even has a dog park!
She has some pictures from the rest stop on the west bound side, but they didn't turn out.  That one actually overlooks this little canyon and was quite scenic.

Well, that's our quick tour of one little part of the world.  It's much different than the rest of Texas!

She's home!

We forgot to update you all - our mom made it home last night.  She opened our Secret Paws for us this morning - boy, was that fun!  We posted about it on the Secret Paws blog, and we'll make our own post in a day or two.  She also took some pictures on her trip that we might let her share.  They're pretty boring, but she realized that some of your pawrents may have never been to west Texas or this part of the country, so maybe you've never seen the 'sights'!  She went to bed pretty early last night and slept like the dead, and today she's been pretty lazy, but we've gotten lots of pets and cuddles, so we're not complaining.  She has a ton of blogs to catch up with, but at least she's started on it!  Thanks for all of your words of support while she left us.  It's nice to know our friends have our backs!

Sulking Saturday

Well, she did it.  She up and left us.  Without even opening our Secret Paws package first.  She said she wanted to make sure to get lots of pictures so we could show our friends everything that happens and she wouldn't have time to do it up right last night.  She's off to the Lone Star state for an early Christmas with her mom and brother - early so they can celebrate her mom's 70th birthday.  We heard that it's been in the 70s there all week - and now that our mom is heading that way, it's going to be cooler.  heh  That's what she gets.  Well, we'll be ok - Zoe found a new toy a couple of days ago that our mom meant to put up.  She brought it to our mom about 3 a.m. to take it off the cardboard.  Zoe had to politely ask her 3 times to do it before the lazy mom got out of bed to find some scissors.  But at least Zoe is happy and not trying to play with my tail!

Take care, friends, and our mom says when she comes back on Monday, she'll have LOTS of time for us since she has the whole week off!

Thursday Thoughts

Today our thoughts are with all of our friends who live in the areas of terrible weather.  We were watching the news this morning with our mom before she went to work, and it looks like a good portion of the U.S. is having really nasty weather - lots of snow, lots of ice, and lots of rain.  We're having our mom check on our friends as she can, but we've already started purring for you all.  Our Secret Paws will be mailed out today - we sure hope Santa is able to deliver it in all this nastiness!  For those of you not in the U.S., of course we hope you are all safe and warm (or cool!) too - our mom hasn't been hearing about weather from other places, but we're purring for you too!  Our weather has been cold, but no snow or rain at all.

Holiday Cheer

Hi buddies!  Just a quick note - we wanted to share this link that our mom was sent.  She thought the video was super cute.  We've not been able to visit, so we don't know if everyone has already posted this or not, but if you haven't seen it, we hope you enjoy it!

Finally Friday

Hi, buddies!  It's Fuzz on Friday!  It's not going to be a great weekend - our mom has the busies.  She has her work Christmas party Saturday night and lots of errands to run during the day, and then Sunday she has to go to the shelter for a holiday party.  We don't know if we've mentioned this or not, but she is now on the shelter's advisory board.  She got home late last night because of a meeting.  We're being neglected!  Zoe screamed at her all night when she got home, so don't think we're taking this sitting down!  Anyway, we're probably not going to be good visitors until after the holidays, but we'll do our best.  Have a great weekend, friends!

Tuesday Toysday - but not for us!

Guess what?!  We're playing Secret Paws!  We found out today who our Secret Paws is!  We're not allowed to say who it is, but what we will say is that it is some cat(s) and/or dog(s) that we know!!  My mom said that we have to do some research.  This means we will go to his/her/their blog and see what toys he/she/they have, what toys he/she/they love or hate, and all kinds of other stuff!  Then, when we feel like we know all we can about him/her/them, Fuzzy and I BOTH get to pick out TOYS and TREATS for him/her/them!!!  This is gonna be so much FUN!!!!  I hope he/she/they are more like me than Fuzzy - then he/she/they will be lots of fun to pick out stuff for!

Easy Like Sunday

Hello, friends!  It's me, Ze Fuzz.  We're going to rest today - our mom has been pretty busy with work, the work Christmas parties and food drive, the shelter (she agreed to be on the advisory board), and just general holiday stuff.  She spent way too long at Walmart yesterday, which made her grouchy when she finally got home.  But she got Zoe a new mousie just like the others, and Zoe went nuts.  She just loves those guys!  So I was thinking today was going to be a very restful day - she'll play with the new guy all day and my mom and I can relax.  But last night she lost him.  Yes, she lost the one she got only 8 hours before.  Maybe she'll find him soon.  At least she still has mousie #2, so she's not crying.  She is just not as enthused as she was when #3 arrived.  Happy Sunday, Buddies!!

P.S.  Mom keeps yelling "Boomer Sooner"!  She's glad the Cornhuskers didn't win the Big 12, since they're jumping ship next year.  But it was a great rivalry between Oklahoma and Nebraska since she was a tiny kid, so she's a little sad to see them go.

Update:  Mousie #3 was located unharmed in the laundry basket.  One of the hazards of flying, I guess.

Wednesday Toysday - huh?

Everycat knows that Wednesday is not Toysday - TUESDAY is Toysday!!  ARGHH!  Oh well, I guess a day late is ok.  My mom went shopping at the Animal Rescue Site (we've told you before how lazy she is, right?), and she bought us these new toys.

The first one is for Fuzzy.  She loves little knit (crocheted?  our mom is also stupid when it comes to crafts) balls.  She can't have these yet because she hasn't destroyed her latest ball yet.  She'll get them soon, though - hers is just now starting to unravel.

The next one is just too cool for words.  And it's mine!

I know some of you have one of these already, but if you don't, be sure to put it on your list for Sandy Claws!  When it rolls into your feather wand, it's pure kitty bliss!!
(That last picture is me rubbing my head on my new Pawbreaker)
