Tummy Contest!!!!

After I made my last post, where I offered to let Miss Trish pet my tummy, our good friend and sometimes nemesis (in fun only!) King Punapippuri suggested that we have a contest to determine once and for all who has the best tummy.  Well, I talked with my mom, and we decided that it wouldn't be fair to give the title to one of the two of us without letting the rest of the CB join in, so we're hosting a contest!  Here are the rules we came up with:

• Any cat or dog can enter 1 photo.  A home with multiple fur babies can enter all of them!
• Leave a comment on this post with a link to your entry.  
• The contest will end at midnight CST (or is it CDT? so confusing...) on Friday, May 6th.  On Sunday, May 8th, we will put up a post with all of the entries and links to the blogs.
• Each blog gets one vote.  We haven't decided whether votes will be made in the comments of the post or by email (we don't want any hurt feelings or pressure to vote for a friend - we want votes for the best tummy!).  Voting will end at midnight CST (or CDT, whatev) on Friday, May 13th.
• There will be 2 prizes given:  1 for the most votes and 1 picked by a random number generator.  The winner with the most votes and his/her family will be disqualified for the random number drawing so we can spread the prizes out.
• The prize packages will consist of $25 USD given to the shelter of the winners' choice by both us and Punapippuri's Aiti!  We will also handpick some gifts for the winners.
• If someone wishes to sponsor a special category, feel free!  Just let us know.

This is the first contest we've ever tried to run, so we hope these rules sound fair to everyone.  We just want to have some fun!!

If we get a lot of comments disliking one or more of the rules, we will consider changing them. 

Special Tummy Tuesday

Today, this tummy is for Miss Trish at the Katnip Lounge.  See, there is this very handsome boy who lives with her, his name is Scouty.  He has furs like mine, but he's very shy and scared, so Miss Trish hardly ever gets to have the pleasure of running her hands through his soft, silky furs.  My mom thinks this is almost the saddest thing she has ever heard, because she starts every day with some good ol' soft orange fur therapy.  I have tried to tell my friend Scouty not to be so scared, but he's worried sick that his Mommy is going to put him in a stew pot and eat him up all gone.  So Miss Trish, until Scouty decides that you are not the enemy, you can pet my furs all you want.  Even my tummy!

Sweet Praline, a beautiful angel

We were so very sad to read today that Miss Praline had to leave for the Bridge.  Our mom is so very sad, and so are we.  Like most of the rest of you, we've had to say goodbye to our best friends, so we can relate to the pain that Miss Paula is feeling.  It's never easy.  But Miss Praline and Miss Paula have many, many friends who care about them, and we hope that Miss Paula will find a little peace knowing so many people love her and can understand what she's going through.  I hope that it's ok that we took this graphic off of the CB.  Rest in peace, beautiful Sweet Praline.  We'll see you at the Bridge one day.

Springy Saturday

It's finally the weekend, and we think it will be a good one!  It finally decided to act like a typical Oklahoma spring, and the rains are supposed to be here all weekend.  It's about time - we've been too dry (or so our mom says).  We are so very sorry for our absence, both in posts and visits.  There is a huge list of excuses we could give (all true) but it doesn't change the fact that we've been bad bloggers!  Word on the street is our mom is going to make a visit to the shelter today - she's barely been at all since January, and there are baby kitties for her to look at (they are probably still too small to play with).  And she'll have to fawn all over the residents, too.  But we know she'll be back to us (and to that huge pile of laundry I kept her from doing the other day - heh).  We'll be visiting all of our friends, too!  And, there are photos to be taken!  Hopefully one will be a good action shot of Zoe being shot by the Bad Kat bottle.  We've been playing a lot, but she doesn't know when to stop.  She's a pain. 

Oh, one more thing.  We won't take a photo of this, but there is evidence that somecat ate cat grass.  Two piles of evidence.  :)

Meh.  I wouldn't give her the satisfaction of doing more than sniffing the stuff.  Fuzzy wouldn't even come downstairs to see what she brought us!  ha HA!  If this is your idea of kissing up, you'll have to try harder!

Finally Friday

I'm sharpening up my claws so I can stick them in my mom's big fat butt.  It's been almost a full WEEK since she's let us post.   She's staying home with us today - she said she needed a 'mental health day'.  Whatever.  If she thinks she's had a rough couple of weeks at work, just wait until Fuzzy and I get through with her!

In other news, the shelter's big yearly fund raiser will be held this weekend.  They're having a Jazz Brunch.  Our mom is very excited about it, but she's even more excited for it to be over.  We probably won't be around this weekend, but we hope to be back more starting next week.  We miss you all!

April Fools!

Zoe, you rock head, you only play April Fools jokes on April 1st - that was a week ago.

So what?  The Lounge Kats asked if I needed a new punkin head, so I had Mom give me one so I could play an April Fools joke on them!  And it was FUNNY!!
