Monday Monday

As my photo from yesterday showed, we did a lot of napping this weekend.  I was sleeping on the back of my mom's chair, using her pillow for MY pillow.  Sadly, the light was not a sunbeam - it was a lamp.  Phooey!  The rest of the weekend was spent baffing...
and eating treats!
Yum!
We're hoping that we get enough snows this week to have our mom home an extra day!  We know you kitties up north get a lot of snow, but around here, a foot of snow shuts the town down!!  We do feel very sorry for our friend, Mr. Puddy - he said it's over 100F at his house.  We have central heat and air, but 100F is HOT even with that.  We hope he's finding good ways to stay cool!

Easy Like Sunday

We've had beeeeeeeeeeeeautiful weather the past few days!!  But today, the cold is going to come back.  So we're going to snuggle up in our beds or anywhere else we can be warm - what better way to spend a Sunday, I ask?  Have a great day, Friends!

Stylish Blogger Award

Hi Friends!  Fuzzy here, and today we get to tell you about this totally pawsome award we received this past weekend called the Stylish Blogger Award!  Here is what it looks like and the rules:

1) Link to the blog who gave you the award.  We were given this award from the cool dogs and cats at Tucker Tells All !  Thank you Tucker, Phoebe, Cosmo, Olivia, and Finn!
2) Tell seven things about yourself that the people out in Blog Land might not know.  We'll split these between me and Zoe - Zoe's answers will be in orange.
  • I am a very quiet cat.  I rarely meow, but I do trill a little bit.
  • I still hide under the bed sometimes.
  • Because of me, tinsel balls are not allowed in this house.  I shred them really fast!
  • I am named after the little girl on Sesame Street.  My mom said 'Little Orange Monster' was too long of a name for a cat.
  • I purr my mom to sleep almost every night.
  • I am the first cat that my mom paid money for!  The rest she either got from 'Free Kittens' ad or they just showed up at her door.  But I was adopted from a shelter!
  •  Every day when my mom comes home from work, I'm sitting on the back of the computer chair near the door to the garage, waiting for her.  If she comes home early, I'm usually still upstairs, asleep.

3) We have to pass the award along to seven blogs we think are stylish.  This part is hard because we follow a lot of blogs that we love so much.  Also, we're not sure who all has received this award yet.  So, we're going to pick a few that always make us smile.
  • The Katnip Lounge - All of our friends probably know this crew already, and I am sure they are loved by all!  Great photos, great catio, great dialogue - we love these guys!
  • Pikku Punapippuri - This is the blog of the King Kitty Cat of Finland (North) and his family.  Some of the cats are Brit cats, some are Finn cats, but they are all lovely.  Their Aiti takes magnificent photos of the cats and birds (much to Punapippuri's chagrin!), and she also has some beautiful photos of the Northern Lights.
  • Manx Mnews - Miss Abby runs this house with a velvet paw, even though she's just a little tiny tuxie girl.  Her mom is also a fantastic photographer and the blog features a mix of cat photos and other scenes from time to time.
  • Adan's Everyday - This is a blog that our mom has read for a long time.  Michico not only takes the most beautiful photos of Adan and Lego as well as other areas of Taiwan (including cafe cats and street cats), but she is also a very talented artist.  Aside from the great photos on the blog, Adan and his little brother Lego are very entertaining and so sweet!
  • Adventures of Admiral Hestorb - We're sure you all know Miss Admiral!  This feisty flirt is a beautiful floofy torbie who has her mom wrapped around her little paw (and her mom's human kittens, too!).  She gave us all a scare when she was refusing to eat, but now she seems to be back to normal, handling her slew of suitors with grace and class!
  • Mr. Puddy - This handsome fellow lives in Australia.  When the blog started, he didn't own his mom yet!  He was an everyday visitor who eventually let them know that he was going to live with them!  He goes on lots of adventures in the neighborhood, and his family manages to get photos of some of them!
  • Marg's Pets - We're not sure where to begin here!  Miss Marg has a heart of gold.  She has a quite large clowder of cats that she takes care of, and they seem to range from formerly feral to still a little feral.  In addition to the cats, she also has dogs, donkeys, and a goat!  How she finds time to take care of all of them so well and manage to comment on our blog is beyond us!  She also posts about her local shelter and animals needing homes.  We think Marg is amazing.
We love all of our friends, and it was very hard to choose just 7 people to give this award to!  Thank you again, Tucker and Co. for our lovely award!

Monday Mischief

Somecat is in trouble.  Problem is, I'm not sure which one.  When I stumbled through the door yesterday, exhausted from my trip, I didn't notice anything wrong.  It wasn't until later, after I had rested up and came downstairs to find something to eat that I saw this:
Now, normally when somecat has done something bad, it's easy to discern which cat is the guilty party because of things you have already witnessed them doing.  The problem is, both girls have displayed this behavior before.  Fuzzy, the Good Girl, has only done 2 bad things in her life.  One involves innocent rolls of paper towels, and the 2nd involved the carpet at the top of the stairs.  Ever since I bought her a cardboard scratcher, she has left the carpet alone.  Zoe LOVES to scratch the carpet, but she has never gone so far as to shred it - normally it's a quick few grabs before she bolts out of the room like her tail is on fire.  Or when she wants attention, like this:
I don't know what on earth possessed one of them to shred the carpet and rip off the weatherstripping at the bottom of the door.  Perhaps this was just an isolated incident.  I've spoken to them both individually, but nocat's talking.  But I hope they know I have my eye on them.

Easy Like Sunday

Well, she made it home!  She is complaining about her feet hurting, but that is all her own fault.  The ONLY shoes she brought to wear were these boots with 4 inch heels.  Now, she's almost 6 feet tall anyway, so there is no logical reason for her to make herself even more gigantic.  She is Not Smart.  But, we'll take advantage of this.  While she lays around nursing her feet and watching football, we'll soak up lots of attention and petties.  And Greenies!  She finally broke out the treats that The Island Cats sent us in our Secret Paws package, and we LOVE them!  We've never had Greenies before.  Those Island Cats really know their stuff!

On a funny note, our mom started to help us read our comments, and she turned this really funky shade of green.  Not because of the happy juice she drank last night but because of Miss Sparkle's comment!  Miss Sparkle's mom human has MET almost all of our mom's musical idols, and our mom is so jealous!  And we also wanted to thank you all for understanding and still being our friends!!  You all get it - we can't totally control our people (just a little bit!).

Happy Sunday!

Saturday Something...

What the heck is up with my paw!??
We got nothing catchy for our blog title today.  Thank you all for your kind words about my vet visit yesterday!  I have to have my *anal glands* cleaned out every few months or so, so it's not a huge deal.  I am a Very Good Girl.  I did get a little squirmy this time, but it was still all ok.  My mom had him take a look at this knot/scab I have, and he said it was just a clogged up oil gland - a blackhead.  He didn't mess with it any further.  She's a real worry wart.  I did lose a little more weight - I went from 7.2 pounds to 6.8.  Our vet had just got back from a clinic or class or something in Florida, and one of the main things they talked about was something UTIs in senior kitties (my mom can't remember what the something was he called it - the word that keeps popping into her head is occult, but she's pretty sure that's not it!!).  Anyway, he was thinking that I could have an infection, so he went ahead and put me on some Amoxi drops (my eyes are a tad runny, too, so this will not hurt me a bit).  BUT, I'm ok - everything is good!

OK, now that I have a little of your pity, I must confess something terribly humiliating.  I hope you will still be our friends after I tell you this.  I mean, this is not something I can help.  It's just who she is.  The 'she' I'm referring to is my mom.  She is abandoning us today to go see these guys.
She claims to be a 'child of the 80s' - that liking rock music sung by men who use more makeup and hairspray than she does is beyond her control.  Well, we say she's far from being a child.  Forty year old women going to see these guys?  Early onset of dementia, perhaps.  But no matter what is wrong with HER, we hope that you - our friends - will not stop coming by to see us.  You see, we need you now more than ever!

Finally Friday

I gots to go to the vet today.  Nothing major, I just have to have my *anal glands* expressed.  I'll also get weighed to see if I've lost more weight or what.  My mom is also going to ask the vet for suggestions on what to feed me to get me chunked back up.  I'm not much of a chow hound anyway, so even if he has suggestions, there is no guarantee it will work!  I hope the rest of you have a great Friday!

It's Definitely Monday

The mom here.  It's Monday.  Zoe has knocked over my water glass, and Fuzzy just sneezed all over me and the laptop screen.  I can't wait to see what the shelter cats have planned for me.  *sigh*
 HAHAHAHA!!!!

Catching Up!

Whew!  We finally made it over to visit all of our friends, and we even stopped in to wish Gracie a happy birthday!  What a party she has going on!  Today we've been playing and snoozing - a pretty quiet day.  Our mom decided not to run her errands today, so we get her all day.  Woohoo!  Right now, I'm going to finish my bath and take another nappie.  Word on the street is there will be a Fancy Feast buffet later!

Finally Friday

Yikes!  No post at all this week!  And no new pictures!  Our mom has promised to help us this weekend - she'll take pictures, visit our friends, and help us post!  We hope all of our friends are all surviving the cold and the flooding, depending on where you are.  We're doing just fine (even though we feel a tad bit neglected).  No real news to report, aside from our mom catching Zoe licking my head.  Then we touched noses, and I looked over at my mom.  I thought she was going to have a heart attack, so we cut out the mushy stuff.  I gotta say, kitties, after having a troll for a brother, this sister thing is pretty cool.  I recommend that you all get a little sister!  And I'm a senior, so what I say should carry some weight, no?

Happy weekend, Friends!

Monday, January 10, 2011

This pretty much sums up our weekend.  My mom snapped this picture of me from the stairs - a top view of me sleeping in the crows nest of our cat tower.  We lounged almost all day Saturday and Sunday.  I played with Zoe quite a bit, to keep her out of mom's hair (and water heh).  Since I'm such a good girl, Zoe barely got into trouble at all this weekend.  We got a bit of snow, and more is supposed to come today!

Have a great week, Friends!

Finally Friday

Does this picture look like I'm making a rude gesture to my mom?  Because I totally am.  I have been in trouble ALL WEEK, and I'm sick of it.  So tonight, she wanted to make up for grouching at me all week and she tried to give me kissies.  I said 'No Kissies' and gave her the paw.  Thank goodness I have plenty of mousies to play with since her hair, her hand, her feet, her water cup, the cursor on the laptop screen, everything on the table, everything on the headboard, everything on the nightstand, and the doors are Off Limits.  Lady, I hope you take a long nap this weekend, because apparently you need one.

Tuesday Cuteness

Well, we sent our mom back to work today.  Having her home was nice, but having a routine back will be nice, too.  Today we want to show you a photo of one lucky girl.  Meet Liza!
This little sweetie was rescued along side a busy street here in our town.  Her eye had a severe infection, so after she was cleaned up and recovered some from her ordeal, her eye was removed.  This week, she will be spayed and will then be adopted out to a lovely lady!  Our mom held little Liza yesterday, and she said she is the softest kitten ever!  And so, so sweet.  And VERY beautiful - the picture doesn't even come close to showing how beautiful this one is.  My mom is glad that she is being adopted now, as people tend to not want to adopt animals that aren't perfect.  Well, Miss Liza, you're one lucky little pretty girl!

Happy Tuesday, friends!

Misunderstood Monday

Kitties, my mom said I'm a pest.  Now, I'm going to list for you my 'bad behavior' for this week.  Most of the things are stuff we've already told you about.  And most of you agreed that it was not bad behavior at all.
  • I knocked over my mom's glass of water.  Now, my great friends at The Chair Speaks pointed out that I was really doing my mom a favor and making sure the temperature of the water was just right for her.
  • I tried about eleventy-thousand times to climb on the laptop keyboard.  I only screwed up the screen once.  It was where I wanted to sit, and it was warm.  This is not bad.
  • I attacked the moving arrow on the laptop screen a lot.  This one actually made my mom laugh. (Mom note: she was trying to bite it, and the smacking noise she would make cracked me up)
  • I kept running up the stairs ahead of her and flopping on a stair.  She never fell or stepped on me.  I don't see what the big deal is.
  • I shut myself in the bathroom.  Three times.  The last time Fuzzy was with me.  Mom was home all three times to let me out, so I don't see what the big deal is.  Sooooooo sorry I inconvenienced you, Mom.
So, none of these things are bad.  I'm not a pest.  I'm misunderstood.  Guess I'll go eat worms.
