Lookit!

Lookit what came in the mail today for ME! (and Fuzzy).

My very own catnip blankie from Miss Stacy!!!!  Doesn't it look beautiful against my furs?  Fuzzy was already in bed when my mom opened up the package for me us, because old ladies like her need lots of sleep.  Since she missed out on it, the blankie is MINE!!!  (until she sees it and whaps the bejeezus out of me for hogging it)

Lookit what else came with it!  A BIRD!
Holy cats, this thing is so cool!
It smells sooooooo good.
Thank you, Miss Stacy!

In other news, the totally cool Mr. Puddy gave us an award a couple of days ago, but our mom has been too busy to help us with it.  We are so very honored to receive an award from him, and we are terribly sorry we're going to be so late posting about it.  Our mom said she has a few more days of 'business' to tend to, and then she'll help us with our blog again. Also, we've fallen behind again visiting all of our friends, and she promises to help us with that soon, too.  And lastly, we've not totally forgotten the beautiful header that Miss Judi made for us.  That's on the list, too.

Have a great weekend, friends!!

A Mystery Solved

Back in November, we made a post, putting the word out that Mousie #1 was Missing.
The Mystery of the Missing Mousie has been solved!  My mom was looking for some stuff of her dad's, and she couldn't find it anywhere.  She got so desperate, she started emptying every single box in the house trying to find that stuff.  We have an open area at the top of the stairs where there are a lot of boxes with random items, and in one of those boxes she found Mousie #1!!  I must have gotten carried away and threw him too high one night.  Every time I lose him, I get a new Mousie - now I have 3!  But I have got to be more responsible with my Mousies.  I promise to take great care of them all.

Normalcy

I can't believe she did that
Hi friends! My mom was telling us last night that she's ready to get back to normalcy.  So do you know what Fuzzy did?  Do ya?  She frew up on the bed.  It doesn't get more normal than that 'round here!  Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

Thank you

I want to thank all of you for sending your best purrs and prayers to us this week.  My father passed Thursday afternoon.  He had lived in a nursing home for 22 years - he had a seizure and stopped breathing in 1989 and suffered brain damage due to the lack of oxygen.  Knowing that even if he was able to beat his pneumonia, sepsis, and the heart attack he suffered while in ICU that he would not have a great quality of life, we easily made the decision on Sunday to stop his treatment and begin comfort care, so he was comfortable for his last few days. He hung on long enough that the family was able to visit him and say their goodbyes.  While we are sad, we are also relieved that he is at peace, and so we also are at peace.

This is kind of a funny thing that happened this week that you may or may not understand.  You all may know that Sparkle's Human is dating a guy who is in a band that I am a fan of.  Every single time I was driving to the hospital, when I was within a specific area, one of his bands' songs would come on.  Every time it did, I would think of Sparkle and then the entire CB.  I felt like it was a reminder that I had wonderful cats purring for me and their wonderful humans praying for me.  Maybe it's silly, but I don't care.  Thank you all, truly.  I will get around to thanking each of you within the next few days, but until then, please take this as my most sincere thanks.

Purrs, Please

Kitties, we'd like to ask a favor of you.  We try to be drama-free girls unless we're poking fun of ourselves, but we're having a bad time right now and could use some purrs.  Our mom's dad is very sick and is in ICU with pneumonia and a host of other issues.  If you could, we'd sure appreciate a few purrs for our mom and for her dad.  Thank you, friends.

Fine Friday!

Hi, Friends!  What a week this has been!  A lot of you asked what I was looking at on Wednesday.  Well, there's not much to look at except for snow, snow, and more snow.  I was gazing outside, longing for the days of window whiffies.  On Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, we got another 14 inches of snow dumped on us.  Now, to put this all into perspective for those of you who are not familiar with Oklahoma weather, we normally get about 9 inches of snow per year.  We've had over that amount twice in the past 10 days.  Also, Wednesday night/Thursday morning, we hit a new state low temperature of -27F (-33 C).  What the paw?  That is NUTS.  We are getting a break though, as next week we should be close to 70F.

And lookit this!  The very cool ladies at Zoolatry gave us the Stylish Blogger Award!
We were so tickled to get this award from them!  We're grinning so big, we think we'll probably melt some of that snow ourselves - we're positively beaming!  We received this award a while back, so we're not going to select any blogs to pass it to, but we would be honored if any of our friends would like to take this award for themselves.

Also - dig this!  We won a new header from Miss Judi in the last CB auction!   She has created a very cool and fun header for us - we love it!  Our mom hopes to get it put up this weekend - we are very excited about this!!

Our posting and visiting has been sporadic, we know, and it probably won't be much better for this next week.  Our mom says she has stuff she has been neglecting while the roads were so bad for the last couple of weeks.  We'll still visit and comment as much as we can and hopefully can do better soon!

Have a great weekend, Friends!!!

What a week!

Well, it was an eventful week, wasn't it?  Record snow across much of the country, lots of towns and cities shutting down for snow days - even in places that normally never shut down!  It was really eventful here, and Zoe and I had a few laughs.  You saw our snow pictures - that's not normal here.  Our mom doesn't (er didn't) even own a shovel, so she was out in our driveway scooping the snow away with a trash can.  (The snow was very light and powdery).  To make it worse, the snow plow had decided that he would pile his snow right where our mom needed to pull out, so she had to move that snow too.  Her neighbor (who is from New Orleans and also doesn't own a snow shovel) packed the snow down with his truck so she could pull out.  Of course, she still got stuck, so he pulled her out with his truck.  Zoe and I were about to split our sides, we were laughing so hard.  If she would have fallen down, that would have been the straw that broke the camel's back and we probably both would have passed out from laughter!  Then on Friday we got MORE snows, so her company let everyone go early.  This weekend the temperatures finally got above freezing, so things are slowly  melting.  Another storm is due in Tuesday or Wednesday that may bring another 10 inches - holy cows!  Zoe, we need to take a tip from the bears and just sleep through winter!  I'll start....

Finally Friday - Wha?

Does this tower make my butt look big?
You're kidding me - it's Friday already?  It doesn't FEEL like Friday... are you sure it's not Tuesday?  Having our mom home for 2 days this week really threw us off.  We were glad she went back to work yesterday - she was really disrupting our nap schedule.  We hope you're all staying warm (or cool!), and we hope that you all are getting plenty of rest for the weekend!

Snow Day!! Part Deux

Well, the town is still shut down.  Officially we got 12 inches of snow, but with the cold and the wind, everything is still totally trashed.  Areas around us got up to 20 inches of snow!  This is totally freakish for our part of the world.  Here is a photo taken about 4-5 hours after the one we posted yesterday:
We are going to spend another day with our mom, taking turns laying on the heated throw and eating treats.
We know our storm is headed to our friends to the north and east - we hope you have it as lucky as we did.  We didn't get any ice and very little sleet, so we have power (and we had plenty of warning about the storm, so we had stocked up on food).  Be safe, and we hope you all get snow days with your parents/humans/bipeds!

Snow Day!!

We are having a blizzard here, so our mom is home with us.  We're sad for all of the outside animals and for the dogs who have to go outside to take care of business.  The snow is really tall!  A teeny tiny dog would get buried.
This is the snow at the front door.  Some of the drifts are really high - the wind is crazy.  But I'M not crazy!
Neither am I!  Let's visit our friends, Mom!
