Tattletail Tuesday
I. Am. MAD. This house has totally unfair rules. I have had to go to Time Out like a jillion times in the last few days. So how come Fuzzy gets to make up the playing rules? Just because Fuzzy doesn't want to play, *I* can't play either? What cat doesn't like the stalking game?? I'm just trying to keep the old girl feeling young. I'm doing my part! But noooooooo. I get yelled at and have to go upstairs BY MYSELF. Why doesn't Fuzzy have to go to Time Out for hissing at me? That's way ruder than anything I do.

I'm FIVE!!!
Hi, everybuddy! Do you know what makes me smile like this?

Finally Friday
First, I have to say THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by to wish me a happy gotcha day and birthday on Tuesday! It was a fantastic day - our mom could not believe that so many cats and dogs stopped by and the house wasn't trashed one bit! I am very grateful to have so many friends and good health. Oh, and my KD kibble. And a sister.
Word on the street is, though, that there are toys in my mom's car. She won an auction item that was donated by Miss Hannah and Miss Lucy's mom - we got a package from across the pond! My mom sneaked a peek in the package before she went into work one day, and she saw MOUSIES! She knew that if they made it in the house, my little sister would have snatched them immediately and hidden them. Since our mom can't find her camera right now (it's in one of several bags from the past month's activities), she didn't want Zoe to have them yet. Hopefully she'll find her camera this weekend and we can PLAY!
And for the record, I did not get a car for my birthday. Rats.

Fuzzy's Gotchaversary and Birthday!
Hello, Friends! Zoe told you we have some celebrations this week. Well, she's not real good with dates and stuff. We have one celebration this week and one next week. Today we celebrate my official Gotcha Day and my made up birthday!
15 years ago, I became an official member of this household, much to the dismay of the 2 mancats who already lived there. I had already decided that this was going to be my home, but my mom was a little slow. She thought I must already have a home. But every day, I would come inside her house and eat, then I would curl up and sleep next to her. Every night she would put me out so I could go 'home'. But then one night she heard me singing loudly and she was afraid some unmannerly tom cat would take advantage of me, so she brought me back inside and made an appointment for me to have my ladygardenectomy. That made it official - I was in the family! The vet said I was between 6 months and a year and a half old, so she split the difference and called me 1 year old. So, today I celebrate 15 years of being gotted and my 16th birthday! I hope I get a car.
Since I'm a senior girl, I'm not much into wild parties - we'll do all of that next week! But in the name of good hospitality, we'll put some good videos on the tv's, open the windows (it's beautiful weather here), and we have some niptinis (or milk for the kits), some shrimp and roast beef, Temptations and Greenies, and some cat grass! Zoe has also said you can play with any of her mousies, but we just ask that you play with them on the stairs or downstairs - upstairs is for rest and relaxation. You can all share the big bed with me, or you can lounge on one of the smaller beds in the room.
Thank you for stopping by! It's good being gotted!

Thankful Thursday
Hi, friends! I'm very thankful today! First, we got the Stylish Blogger Award from the very cool mancat Herman - isn't he so sweet!??
We've received this award before, so we were just going to thank Herman and beg off on the 7 facts about us. However, I had to have another senior wellness exam yesterday, so that has given me things to be thankful for!
We're going to skip passing this award, but please feel free to take this if you would like! We know that all of our friends who visit us have Stylish Blogs! Have a great Thursday, friends!!

- I am thankful that my blood work came back nearly perfect!
- I am thankful that the one item that came back almost not in range got me a bonus....
- As did the fact that I've lost a bit more weight (I'm down to 5.3 pounds)....
- So because my potassium is almost low and I'm losing weight, I get my KD food again!!!!!
- I am thankful that my mom fed me my KD food tonight!
- I am also thankful that she gave me Fancy Feast
- I am thankful that my mom takes me for regular exams, even though I hate them.
We're going to skip passing this award, but please feel free to take this if you would like! We know that all of our friends who visit us have Stylish Blogs! Have a great Thursday, friends!!

Mardi Gras - or Pancake Day?
First, we want to wish Miss KC a very speedy recovery. We hate that she's not feeling well.
While the rest of the normal world (or the US, we're not sure) celebrates Mardi Gras with beads, masks, and wild partying, my mom's hometown celebrates Pancake Day. What is that, you ask? Well, all we know is that there is a race for women and they have to flip a pancake while running, there is a parade, there is a pancake eating contest, and other crazy things. I pulled this off of the Internet to help explain it:

Our mom hasn't lived in Liberal since 1989, and really the only thing she misses about living there is Pancake Day. We guess most towns have their own local celebrations, festivals, or holidays that a person looks forward to. For a Liberal, Kansas girl, that was Pancake Day. We guess we should be thankful she's not from Beaver, Oklahoma!Shrove Tuesday was once known as a 'half-holiday' in England. It started at 11:00am with the signaling of a church bell. On Pancake Day, pancake races are held in villages and towns across the United Kingdom. The tradition is said to have originated when a housewife from Olney was so busy making pancakes that she forgot the time until she heard the church bells ringing for the service. She raced out of the house to church while still carrying her frying pan and pancake. It remains a relatively common festive tradition in the UK, particularly in England even today, is the pancake race whereby participants race through the streets whilst tossing pancakes into the air, catching them in the pan whilst running.
The tradition of pancake racing had started long before that. The most famous pancake race, at Olney in Buckinghamshire, has been held since 1445. The contestants, traditionally women, carry a frying pan and race to the finishing line while tossing the pancakes as they go. The winner is the first to cross the line having tossed the pancake a certain number of times. Traditionally, when men want to participate, they must dress up as a housewife (usually an apron and a bandanna).Since 1950 the people of Liberal, Kansas, and Olney have held the "International Pancake Day" race between the two towns. The two towns' competitors race along an agreed-upon measured course. The times of the two towns' competitors are compared, to determine a winner overall. After the 2000 race, Liberal was leading with 26 wins to Olney's 24. A similar race is held in North Somercotes of Lincolnshire in eastern England.

Clarification
Hi friends, it's Fuzzy. I need to clear something up. Yesterday, my drama queen sister told you all about our mom cheating on us with dogs. Now, she was so upset she didn't really think about what she was saying, she just let it all spew out. We have met several really cool dogs while we've been blogging, so it's not that we hate dogs. It's just that Zoe hated that my mom was giving her attention to another 4 legged friend - or 4 4 legged friends in this case. The fact that our mom brought back drool on her skin and clothes just sent Zoe into a funk. But I have to give her credit, Zoe played the best hand she could have. Our mom hates it when Zoe retreats to under the bed. See, that was her safe spot when she first came to live here. Now when she goes under there, it makes our mom so sad, like Zoe doesn't feel safe. Hopefully that will keep our mom home for a while now.
Have a great week, buddies!

NOT Easy Like Sunday
Hi friends, it's me - Zoe, reporting from under the bed (UTB to Miss Admiral fans). There is no picture today because I'm hissed off. I'm staying under the bed and teaching my mom a lesson. You all know how patient we were with our mom while she had stuff to deal with over this past month. We were pretty much saintly kitties. But she had to go and push it. She left us yesterday morning to go visit a friend of hers - an old college roommate from Texas who just relocated to Oklahoma City. We were hesitant to let her go, but she insisted that she really, REALLY wanted to, so we said ok. But, friends, she didn't tell us the entire story. There were d-o-gs. Four of them. And she let them lick her and sit on her and totally stink her up. She came home this morning smelling extremely doggish, and we were not amused. I could smell her immediately and refused to come out from under the bed to greet her. I'm so mad, I can't even TELL you how mad I am. Not even Fancy Feast is going to get her out of this one.

Thankful Thursday
We have so much to be thankful for. All of our friends in the blogosphere - cats, dogs, and humans - have been so kind to us. Especially during this past looooooong month. The purrs, the notes of well wishes and condolences, and the messages just to check on us have really touched us. We can't thank you enough for the kindness you have shown us and our mom. We appreciate and love you all.
We're also thankful that the amazing Mr. Puddy gave us an award a while back! We do apologize for not posting about it sooner, but our mom has been really busy with planning her dad's memorial service, dealing with family (not in a bad way, just a time consuming way), trying to get caught back up at work, and trying to get caught back up with the shelter (they are in the middle of planning a huge fund raiser). So without further ado, we present our Awesome Blog Award!!
We are supposed to tell you 7 things about ourselves. We have decided to tell you 7 things we have in common.
Things aren't looking too good for us as far as visiting, commenting, or blogging for another few days or so, but we wanted to at least thank you all and let you know we're ok! And our mom PROMISES that she'll update our blog SOON!!!

- We both prefer water out of our mom's cup
- Neither one of us ignore our mom after she abandons us for a day or so
- We don't try to break out - we are both happy being indoor girls
- We don't wrassle like boycats, but we do chase each other!
- We're both real good purrers
- We both sleep on the bed with our mom. One of us almost always sleeps on her pillow with her.
- We were both picked on previously by our house or sheltermates, but neither one of us are aggressive. We rarely get hissy with each other.
Things aren't looking too good for us as far as visiting, commenting, or blogging for another few days or so, but we wanted to at least thank you all and let you know we're ok! And our mom PROMISES that she'll update our blog SOON!!!
