We did not know Mickey very well, but our mom used to visit his blog before we got our own blog. She always thought he was a very kind and handsome mancat, and he reminded her of our brother at the Bridge, Snuggles. Mickey's story was a lot like Snuggles' story - Snuggles lived to be 18 1/2, and he developed a tumor at the end of his life. It broke my mom's heart to see him so sick. It is so very hard to lose a friend who has been a part of your life for so long - in my mom's case, it was pretty much for her entire adult life. We know that Mickey's family must be devastated by his illness and his passing. We're sending soft purrs for all of them. We hope Mickey is enjoying himself at the bridge, where he is healthy again. We know we'll meet him one day, and it will be our honor to do so.
It is sad to see our beloved kitties leave for the Bridge. Very nice tribute to Mickey.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely testament to Mickey and how bittersweet that it reminded you so much of your own Snuggles. Indeed our furbabies who have been with us for so long with so many memories it is hard. We are purring and purraying for Mom Nancy and the rest of Mickey's family who must be feeling his loss deeply.

ReplyDeleteI did not know Mickey but I always feel sad when I hear news like this. It is really hard to lose someone so special in your life. My thoughts are with his family and hope their hearts will heal some day. I am sure Mickey is a happy kitty to be loved so much.

ReplyDeleteRIP Sweet Mickey. He did have a long and happy life, well-loved by his Human and fur-siblings. My Human says that we will all be together with Ceiling Cat one day, and we know there was a Big Furry Welcoming Committee for Mickey!
